Green Vehicle Hire: How to Run a Sustainable Campaign

There’s never been a better time to run a sustainable campaign. Be it for a weekend launch or a month-long tour, going green is more feasible than ever – and the perfect way to reach a modern, more eco-friendly audience. But how to go about it?

From green vehicle hire to sustainable wraps, there’s plenty you can do. Read on for the most effective options available from the Promohire team.

Hire an electric vehicle

Electric promotional vehicles don’t release gases into the atmosphere, so they’re much cleaner and better for the environment. While some argue that plugging in isn’t 100% sustainable, it’s still an easy way to make your campaign as green as possible.

Here are some great options:

If you’d like something else, like the VW Buzz, we’ll be happy to source it for you. Green vehicle hire is highly cost-effective and ensures the vehicle itself has a long service life.

Plan a static activation

The simplest way to avoid contributing to climate change is to avoid using the engine. This won’t suit mobile activations, but if you’re only using your vehicle as a branded backdrop and storage unit then it’s a great way to be sustainable.

Many of our vintage vehicles are old, so they're not suited to driving long distances anyway. At Promohire, we typically move older vehicles to and from each venue as part of our logistics service – all using a Euro 6-compliant loader.

Lithium power and solar setups

If you need sustainable power, there’s nothing better than a lithium battery pack. Powerful, long-lasting and popular with everything from drink setups to light catering, it can easily power a bar with fridges for an entire day.

These are small enough to fit in tight spaces and can be charged via renewable sources (like solar panels) – resulting in a sustainable campaign that uses ‘off-grid’ energy.

Solar panels are especially useful in the summer. These can be affixed to our promotional vehicles, and they’re visual cues that make it obvious your brand’s running a sustainable campaign. See our guide to powering your promotional vehicle for more info.

Ask for an eco-friendly vehicle wrap

Your promotional vehicle will be fully wrapped in your design. And while traditional wraps are made from vinyl (PVC), major manufacturers like 3M have released eco-friendly versions that can be fully recycled. PVC-free wraps can be expensive, but they're ideal for sustainable campaigns.

Working with our sister company Raccoon, we can also recycle as much traditional waste as possible – all of which would otherwise go to landfill. Check out how this works in Raccoon’s guide to greener vehicle branding.

Pick an award-winning vehicle hire team

The best way to run a sustainable campaign is to choose the right team. At Promohire, we’ve helped several clients spread the word about sustainability, and even won awards for the privilege. We’re confident we can do the same for you too!

BiOrbic is just one example. This R&D company wanted to educate people on bio-based products and needed a way to spread their message over a month-long tour. So, we installed green energy, a green wrap, and built the inside using recycled materials.

Thanks to our brilliant production team, this project won gold at the FMBE Awards!
