Who are ACT and the Ardonagh Group?
ACT is the charitable arm of the Ardonagh Group, one of the world’s leading insurance brokers with over 250 locations worldwide.
Through ACT, Ardonagh supports charities and community projects across the globe. They aim to help people and businesses connect in meaningful ways, with charity work that leaves a lasting impact.
Following an exhibition at Kensington Palace showcasing nine years of charitable work, ACT wanted to extend the experience far beyond just a single venue.
What was the challenge?
The original exhibition told powerful stories of people, communities, and projects run by ACT. But like other large installations, its reach was limited to those who could attend.

So, Ardonagh Group decided to turn a double-decker bus into a touring exhibition. This would travel across the UK and Ireland, allowing staff in over 100 locations to learn more about ACT’s charitable work, without having to visit the fixed exhibition.
The challenge was how to:

How did Promohire help?
We transformed a modern double-decker bus into a fully immersive mobile exhibition, designed for education, engagement, and touring.

It was fully wrapped in bold ACT branding to create a striking presence as it arrived at each location. Internally, the focus was on recreating the atmosphere of the Kensington Palace exhibition within a compact, mobile space.
To achieve this, we provided:
1. Creative planning & development
ACT were clear that this experience should be interactive to fire up employee engagement, while still being informative. The focus was on education, but that didn’t mean just printing off some text and images.
Instead, we worked with Ardonagh Group to decide what the experience would look like and how each floor of the bus would be used. This would maximise their investment and ensure people would be excited to jump on board the touring exhibition bus.
3. An educational walkthrough

Using graphic walls, structural display systems, plinths and monoliths to tell the ACT story, we produced an educational layout that gave plenty of room for crowds to gather and learn more. Plaques and curated artefacts were also installed to serve as visual aids throughout.

This was all thanks to our creative design and build experts, who work tirelessly to deliver experiential campaigns that people love.
We also installed the digital elements, along with finishing touches like LED lights and plants to soften the environment and add visual warmth.
3. A professional bus driver
When ACT came to us, they knew they’d get more than double-decker bus hire and a custom fit-out. They knew they could trust us to transport the bus from one location to another, safely and on time. It was all part of our aim to make ACT’s experiential campaign a stress-free experience!
